Are Democrat and Republican almost useless labels now?

Not so much for politicians themselves, but in terms of their supporters? I know lifelong Democrats who supported Trump and can’t wait for him to stand again in 2024, and conversely lifelong Republicans who hated him and didn’t vote for him. The ones that I know didn’t actually vote for Biden, they just abstained altogether.

Update:

TB12 and Gloria - I am not a member of either party. And as to my claim, well I know a lot of blue-collar democrats who voted for Trump. Also see the following for more evidence if for some reason you don’t believe me (what purpose lying would suit on a forum like this, I don’t know):

https://time.com/voices-from-democratic-counties-w...

https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/nypost.com/2016/09...

Update 2:

TB 12 - and I stand by what I said. I know people from real life who are registered Dem and firm supporters of Trump. What purpose would it serve for me to make this up and post on yahooanswers?

Update 3:

Also if you’re going to call me a liar, I could say the same of you saying the reverse - Republicans who voted against him. Your word is as good as mine.

The USA has had a Uniparty for some time now. All significant political figures of all parties are being controlled by hidden individuals. Bribery or blackmail is the usual method. People susceptible to neither need to be set up and framed or nthey never advance up the hierarchy.

Same goes for Hollywood and the music industry. The MSM is not unaffected, either.

Some of you might remember me bashing Trump a year ago here. I worked for Hillary's campaign and voted for Biden in the primary.

In August when Biden picked Kamala, I said he had just lost my vote, and that's when I began to feel the hate from Democrats.

The tyrannical and arrogant behaviour on Y!A echoed what was happening on CNN, NY Times, and Biden's speech. Anyone who slightly disagrees with them is immediately ridiculed and vilified. I cannot identify with bullies like that.

Marking the ballot for Trump still felt really weird. I had never voted for a Republican except Reagan.

In real life everyone still assumed I was a Democrat. And I probably am liberal in many ways. I am in academia, vegetarian, protested in People's Park in Berkeley. You get the picture.

I'd rather be called "uneducated", "deplorable" and "ugly people", than be someone who calls others those names.

The "Democrats" I know in life have been dropping hints that they too are against what's happening with the Democrats in power. We are all careful not to reveal too much of what we really think, for fear of being condemned and ostracized.

If not for Y!A, I may not have voted for Trump.

If you think so, read this. Many staunch Republicans disagree with you vehemently.

Re:"I know lifelong Democrats who supported Trump and can’t wait for him to stand again in 2024" I think you are a Republican hack who made that up.

Yes they are both completely useless and I condemn both.  I still vote for one or the other because otherwise my vote would be wasted.

UPDATE,,, Both of your sources are op/ed pieces from 2016 showing a few people that may or may not be Democrats ( you do know there no requirement for factual reporting in an opinion piece,,, right,,, that's why it's called an "opinion piece".) and both are referring to the 2016 election,,, show me something current with hard core facts to back it up,,, until then I stand by my answer.

I can honestly state that I know of no Democrats that supported Trump or have any desire to see him run again but I do know of many Republicans that voted against him.

It's the same party. The US is a one-party state.
