Bottom Paint/Wax - what goes first?
Getting my sailboat ready for the season. Do I Wash&Wax the topsides first and then bottom paint? or should I bottom paint first? To Wash the hull, I usually need to use an acid cleaner to get the waterline algae off.
2 AnswersBoats & Boating2 months agoIs there an extended tank kit for Coleman 2.5hp outboard?
The 2.5hp Coleman is a great motor - and I've had dozen different outboards and the Coleman is the most reliable, powerful little sucker I've ever had. It is almost identical to the 5HP one, except it does not have a fuel pump and t-fitting for an external tank and worse--- its internal tank is really small. Is there a kit available to add these parts and allow me to use an external tank.
1 AnswerBoats & Boating4 months agoIs there a remote start kit for a generac GP7500E generator?
The generator is gasoline-fueled with electric start. Is there a kit available to convert it to remote starting? Or plans to jury rig one.?
1 AnswerDo It Yourself (DIY)2 years agoWhat is the purpose of the rubber mats in the pavement at crosswalks?
I notice that most (not all) of the cross walks at our town that have traffic lights have red rubber mats embedded in the concrete at the corner just where pedestrians would begin to cross the street. Why? do they contain pressure sensors? or are they there to warn blind persons that there is a light?
6 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation2 years agowhat is the algorithm used in the Lacrosse digital weather forecaster?
My digital thermometer/forecaster is pretty good, but clearly the storm/rain symbols depend more than on just the 10 hour barometer trend. Has the algorithm used by LaCrosse (or competitors) been published any where?

5 AnswersBiology2 years agoWhy won t a credit union accept me as a member for deposits if my credit is frozen?
I have applied for deposit accounts at two major credit unions and quality for membership. But, neither of them will accept me while my credit report is frozen. I am not or do I intend to ever apply for a loan or credit, just want to get the better interest rate on CD s. Is this just marketing? Is it illegal? I won t unfreeze my score if I am not applying for credit.

2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs3 years agoIs accidental war with N. Korea Likely?
The US and the USSR came close to nuclear war due to miscalculation, technical error and accident. Highly placed rational persons interceded and prevented a holocaust. North Korea has no such persons and no sophisticated command and control of the military. Is war likely?
3 AnswersCurrent Events3 years agoDo singers ever sit down? Do classical singers in a chorus, opera or recital ever sing sitting down? Why not?
Most orchestra players sit while they perform; so do musical saw players for that matter. Why don't classical singers ever sing sitting?
3 AnswersClassical5 years agoHow to deactivate antique percussion caps?
I collect firearms. Recently got a beautiful cased percussion pistol circa 1850 that came with a tin of original percussion caps. I believe these (mercury fulminate?) caps are unstable and possible quite dangerous to handle or store. They however are very rare and collectible. How to deactivate the explosive without destroying the cap? Soak in water? Alcohol?
3 AnswersHunting5 years agoA tree falls in the river.....?
I live on the banks of a river, which although not navigable is used by fisherman and occasional kayakers. A tree fell down on my neighbor's property (across the river from me) and is not completely blocking the river. Some branches are on my side, which is not a problem. But... is my neighbor responsible to remove his tree from the river? What government agency has jurisdiction to compel him to move it? Local authorities are not interested.
1 AnswerLaw Enforcement & Police5 years agoAm I an African American?
I don't know what to put on government forms. Anthropologists tell us that all human beings are descended from Africans. How many generations does one have to go back to determine ethnicity? The Nazi's had their answer; what's ours? Is it skin color? Some 'black' people have very pale skin. Is it culture? What exactly is it?
