  • DR found an ovarian cyst today...pain, nausea, fatigue, overall sick! Is this normal?

I went to my gynecologist today because I was having abnormally very painful cramping, lower back pain, heavy bleeding, lots of big blood clots and a sharp stabbing pain on my right side. This is not like my usual monthly cycle. Must note that I've been having irregular periods for almost a year now. During my examination, she found a cyst on my right ovary, hence the pain! She took a good bit of blood to test for a few things and scheduled an ultrasound for next Wednesday. Over the past two days, I have had intermittent nausea, cold sweats, hot sweats, bad fatigue, shallowed breathing and of course all the pain. I overall feel terrible! Is this normal with a harmless ovarian cyst? She told me not to jump up or down and to take it easy. Waiting almost a week for any information is going to be hard! Of course I'm worried and my mind always wonders to the worst. Has anyone had a situation similar to this? How did it turn out and what treatment was done for you? Any personal experiences or information would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance.

  • Is it illegal to have 2 full time jobs at the same time?

My husband is working on a contract job from home. This contract job is considered full time although the work load is no where near full time. He has been offered another full time position here locally where we live. After some thought, he thinks that he can do both jobs at the same time without it being a problem. The question is, is it illegal to work 2 full time jobs at the same time? I don't see what the problem would be if he can handle the workload for both jobs without compromising the quality of his work. Any experts on the subject? Also, the contract job is a remote position (he does IT work) and the base company is located in another state.

    Thanks!

  • Are late charges including in a vehicle payoff amount?

We paid off our principal amount on our auto loan a few months ago. There are however still around $600 in late charges on the loan that has to be paid off before they will release the title to me. We are trying to trade in our car to purchase another used car. Will the $600 in charges be considered our payoff amount even if the principal amount has been paid? Would I tell the dealer that the payoff is $600? Would they treat it like a normal trade in with a payoff?

    Thanks!

  • 7 year old's bedtime? Husband & I disagree. HELP!?

We have a son who is 7 years old and is about to start 2nd grade. Up until the end of 1st grade, his bedtime was 7:30pm. When summer started in May, we moved his bedtime a little later to 8:00pm. Our son has been happy with this adjustment, as well as I have. My husband just told me that he bedtime will be moving back to 7:30pm tomorrow when school starts back. He says that I agreed to that at the beginning of the summer. I know for a fact I did not. I think a 8:00pm bedtime is just fine for a 7 year old in 2nd grade. I believe the only reason my husband wants to move it back earlier is because it better suits his TV schedule. I'm sure tonight we will get into a big fight about this. I want to leave his bedtime at 8:00pm but my husband wants 7:30pm.

What time do you put your kids to bed?

    Thanks!!

  • Which doctor should I go see first?

For the past 2 months, I have been having abdominal pain along with abnormal menstrual bleeding/spotting for almost a month & a half. My spotting stopped finally a week ago but I have continued to have abdominal pain as well as bowel pain & some constipation. I am trying to decide if I should go see my primary care doctor or if I should go to the gynecologist. I have a history of colon cancer in my direct family, which leads my mind to think its not gynecology related.

What do you think? Primary care doctor or gynecologist first?

  • Vaginal bleeding for over a month, what could it be?!?

I have been having vaginal bleeding/spotting every day for about a month and a half. It is not as heavy as my usual period, but its enough blood to need a panty liner. I have been feeling bloated as well as my abdomen has been feeling very hard. I have been very tired but not able to sleep good. I have been having lower back pain on & off the entire time. I know I am not pregnant, not possible. Anyone experience this & what did it turn out to be?

  • I have been spotting for about 3 weeks now. What could it be?

I have been spotting for about 3 weeks now. Some days it is brown, which I know is old blood. But some days is red, fresh blood. And its not a lot, not enough to wear a tampon. I cannot be pregnant, as my husband and I haven't had sex in over 2 months. I do have an IUD but have not experienced any bad pain or anything that would lead me to believe it had pierced my uterus. There are some days where I am more bloated but no period ever arrives. I know I should have it checked out by a doctor, but my husband recently got laid off so we do not have medical insurance right now.

    Any ideas? Anyone experience this?

  • How soon can I get highlights after I color my entire hair?

I have been coloring my hair at home for over a year. I have been coloring my hair a solid dark brown color myself. I am ready for a change and I want to get some professional highlights put in. It's time for me to color my hair again at home to cover up roots. I would rather do it at home myself before I go in to get highlights, because its a lot cheaper. How long after I color my hair at home do I have to wait before I can go into the salon and get highlights put in?

  • Husband put on administrative leave for medical reasons. Is this legal?

My husband had invasive ankle surgery back in the middle of December 2009. He worked from home for 6 weeks, he is an IT specialist. Once he was off of his crutches at the end of the 6 weeks, he went back to work. His office does not have an elevator and he has to go up a large flight of stairs a few times a day. He is finding it hard to go up & down the stairs and fears that it is hurting his recovery. He now has a boot on his ankle that he wears for support. Yesterday he asked his boss if they could set him up an office downstairs or let him work from home because the stairs were killing his ankle. Today they sent him home on "administrative leave" without pay until he gets a note from his DR stating medically that he needs those options. So my husband leaves work and goes straight to the DR's office where they give him a note from the DR stating he suggests the patient works from home until 4/1/10. What are our rights regarding this? I know it is against the law for a company to fire someone for medical issues. So instead of firing him, they are putting him on unpaid leave, which we cannot afford. Any advise? Thanks!

  • Painful "popping/snapping" sensation on right side of neck?

Every once in a while, I was get a painful sensation on the right side of my neck. It feels like something "pops" or "snaps", the pain is sharp and only lasts for a minute or so, almost like a tendon or muscle snaps in half (obviously thats not what it is). I can feel it on the entire length of my neck. Then after a few minutes, its fine. It scares me every time it does it, because it catches me off guard and its very sharp. Any idea on what it could be?

  • Repair an old car or buy a new one?

I have a 2003 Ford Escape and it has 150,000 miles on it. I was recently in a car accident about 3 weeks ago. The repairs from the accident have been made, and it LOOKS nice. But now I have other things going wrong with the car. They had to change an O2 sensor and one catalytic converter just to get my car to stay cranked. I've had the car back a whole day just for it to start having problems again and my check engine light has come back on. The body shop said it is more than likely the other two converters failing now. The cost of repairing all 3 converters is close to $2,000. And even when I make those repairs, I need new struts or shocks, and new tires. Before the accident, it was running good .... but now after the fact, it seems like all kinds of things are going wrong. This car is not paid off, but I am certain that if I trade it in, I could get my pay off. The only reason I am asking for advice is because we were looking forward to having no car payment ... but we can't continue to make costly repairs like this. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  • What is causing my thumb to twitch 100+ times per minute?

Before you all say "go to the dr" ... I've got an appt this coming Friday. Until then, any responses will be greatly appreciated.

For over 2 weeks now, I've noticed my right thumb twitching. At first, I just noticed it when I was sitting still not moving my hand. For the past couple of days, it has been twitching non-stop all day. I have been woken up from sleep 3-4 nights with arm cramping in the same arm. I didn't relate the two symptoms until this past weekend when I noticed the twitching 24/7. Any ideas on what it could be? No injuries, its not painful other than muscle tension & cramping. I just timed the twitches and it was well over 100 twitches per minute.

    Thanks in advance!

  • The Election Race Issue - Who & Why?

I have a few questions I'd like some serious answers to. I am a republican & I voted for John McCain. Obviously race was a large factor in this election.

Q #1: I want to know how many of you voted for Obama just because he was black??

Q #2: Are there any black people out there that voted for McCain??

I have talked to several people about this election. I have come across a LOT of white people that voted for Obama. But I have NOT come across any black people who voted for McCain. This leads me to believe that a lot of the votes Obama received were because he was black ... not about the issues at hand. I know this is probably obvious to a lot of people, including myself, but I wanted to get some insight and opinions from other people.

This is not intended to be a racist question.

  • My car will not go in reverse but will drive forward. What could be wrong with it?

My 2003 Ford Escape cranks and drives forward with no problem, but will not go in reverse. I tried putting it in neutral and pushing it backwards, but something catches and it won't budge. I did the same thing in reverse, no luck. My car is parked in my garage and I cannot get it out to take it to a repair shop. Does anyone know what may be wrong with it? Does anyone know what I could do to get it out of my garage??

  • Problems with sister-in-law ... need advice?

My sister-in-law and I have known each other for about 6 years now. I don't think highly of her. We got caught up in some "he said, she said" drama 10 mths ago. I was told by my husband that my sister-in-law was talking trash about my best friend, which meant they were talking about me also. I believed my husband. I'd had enough from her & I just couldn't keep quiet about this. I sent her an email asking her to not talk about me and my friends anymore. I didn't say anything mean in the email. She denies it and then starts in on my husband, telling me bad things about him. I sided with my husband .... just for him to later tell me he was wrong and it wasn't my sister-in-law that said it afterall. So I apologize to my SIL for wrongly accusing her & that I was only going by what I was told. She ignored both of my apologies. For the past month or so, we have been around around each other & gone to dinners and been fine. She is now blocking my emails. I thought we were past this! Advice?

  • What's your opinion on a regular person getting ordained to marry a friend of theirs?

Do you think it is ok for just anyone to be able to become ordained to marry people when they have no religious background? IMO, Holy matrimony should be handled by people who are trained and experienced in this field. Would you have someone marry you that obtained ordainment from the internet? Your thoughts?
