Suggestions on my next car lease/purchase...?

I am debating on whether to get a larger vehicle (midsize SUV, sports wagon or mid to large sedan) OR sporty car (2+2 or 2-seater) as my next car. I got time, but I'm having a tough time deciding. We currently have a midsize sedan and a compact sedan. I'm looking to replace the compact sedan right now. We don't have kids right now, but if we do, it might be 1-2 yrs before it actually happens.

Pros for the larger car are practicality, cargo space(also a con because I become the designated mover for all friends and family which can be a pain if it happens too often), not needing to drive 2 cars when family visits, makes going camping more convenient.

Cons for larger car are its gas guzzling abilities, parking and the fact that I like to cars with better handling.

Pros for a sporty car are fun factor, handling, good for weekend getaways.

Cons for sporty car are lack of space, potential gas guzzling.

If you where in my shoes, which type of car would you go with?

A very interesting question. Both sides have equal amounts of pros and cons. It would be easier to decide if you had provided a price range but this is still enough information. I would decide on a mid size SUV. Although the Sports Car does provide fun and handling it does not provide with a pro for city areas. And if you ask me personally I'd choose the SUV because i like to be big. If you like that as well the SUV if for you!

I'd get a BMW 5-Series, or with a lower budget, a 4 door Volkswagen Jetta. The new Nissan Altimas are really fun to drive and have a lot of that "get-up-and-go" if you're going for like Japanese economy like Toyota, Honda, or the likes. I've driven the new Camry, and the new Altima.. and the basic Altima drives like a Ferrari compared to the Camry. I drove the V6 and V4 Camry's.

The Nissan 350z is a beast also in sports cars. Definitely look at Nissan if you like Japanese cars.

Out of SUVs, I really hate SUVs, I've driven a Jeep, a Durango, and that little Ford SUV and they really weren't fun. Driving a Land Rover almost made me change my mind about them. Rovers are awesome.

In terms of parking. If a car couldn't be parked they wouldn't make it. I live in Florida, everyone and there mother has a Ford F-350 or some other huge pick-up. Parking isn't a big deal. Handling..... are you a drifter or a race car driver? If you were you wouldn't be getting people's opinions on cars. Unless you plan on taking those round-abouts in your town at 60 mph I wouldn't worry.

I've owned a Jeep, and a Pontiac G6 until I ran it into the ground. I take long drives out around the U.S. and driving an SUV or a Coupe, or a Sedan... really didn't make things any better. There was never a time I couldn't put something in my trunk and thought, "Man I wish I had my Jeep." The SUV is just good for rugged hard driving. As though we all do plenty of that in our day-to-day commutes to work.

I also end up transporting people. I drive a Bimmer 7 series, and I will say going on excursions, people will pack into your car whether it's a Coupe, 4-Door, or Batmobile.... they can either pile into it, in discomfort, or in impressed comfort. I chose the latter. Surprisingly the amount of people I end up moving has stayed the same or lowered.

My advice to you would be, "stop thinking about functionality and get a car that you enjoy driving." Functionality is more of a psychological marketing scheme. 3 questions, "Do I like this car." "Is it fun to drive." "Can I afford it."

Go for a sedan/sports car that has plenty of cargo room and decent gas mileage, but still has a sports handling like the Camry SE versions.

That way you can still fit if you have kids in the near future, and you won't be spending a ton of money on gas. So you get a little pros from both options.

not a sports car other than the look of them they are bad on gas and have little space

you can look into a hybrid suv they are kinda expensive but have good space and are good on gas

the prias has surprisingly large ammounts of space but you couldnt help somebody move in it

other than that I would say a jeep they are good reliable cars I moved in mine and they are very durable and handle surprisingly well the only downside is you wont be able to sell it for much because of gas mileage

your best bet would be a hybrid suv which would solve all your problems but there is a price issue I would say look around and just look for a good deal

First the GTI is "often" a 2 door yet you do have the hatch so it is far less complicated and that they are sportier looking yet i think of coverage rates nevertheless evaluate them activities vehicles. I used to have a Spec-V and my coverage fee became into the comparable as though i might have had a Camaro SS. There are a ton of thoughts i'm form of in the comparable boat yet have a somewhat larger funds. i might additionally advise watching boards for vehicles. human beings continually are attempting to sell their vehicles. Spec-V's good now are low in fee and arent too shabby looking. they may well be worse. The older fashions regarded extra desirable than the recent ones for my area. it is all opinion based. while you're searching for some thing it is six velocity nevertheless and prefer it to be around your funds you're probably going to get some thing with mileage closer to the 100K selection. the two way as long as you dont get a roadster devoid of returned seat maximum vehicles that are semi sporty could have the capacity to slot your bass amp in it. continually have been given the trunk/hatch.

since you like to go camping, going away from home, id go for the SUV. there are SUV's that looks like its gonna gulp 10,000 gallons of gas per minute. but its really a gas saver.
