My Grand Prix has problems with the blower and climate control knob?

When I bought it a few years ago, settings 1 and 2 didn't do a thing - if I wanted the a/c/heater on, it had to be set to 3, 4, or 5. Just the other day, it's graduated straight to only running on 5... settings 1-4 won't blow at all. Could this be as simple as a blown fuse? If so, is there a quick way to tell? It's freezing outside - literally - and I can't stand to be out there for long! LOL! If I can't find a solution quick, I'm going to have to take it to a shop. High is great while it's freezing, but sooner or later, I'm going to want a lower setting... I can always lower the teperature, but... what if the problem progresses, and even setting 5 refuses to work?

Yes change the resistor, but if the fan is acting up it can cause premature resistor failure. You might want to change the blower motor too while you have your head down there on the passenger floor mat.

from what you described, you need a new blower resistor. not too expensive. get it replaced and you wont have that problem anymore.
