  • My dog is great on a leash (or off, for that matter), but she lunges at cars and bikes.?

How can I make her accept that these things are not something you can lunge at? She loves car rides, and I've had bike riders stop to pet her - she doesn't mind that. It's just when they're whizzing by us, she lunges out and tries to bite them! Tonight, she even bit my hand! It's just bruised, I don't think she expected to actually get something in her mouth, but she's a 70 lb German Shephard mix (possibly boxer?), and she could really hurt someone. Any ideas?

  • I just adopted a dog from an animal shelter 2 weeks ago. Her paw pads are tearing up, though -?

I think she's run way more than she has in the last year, and it seems they are not holding up. One of them was even worn off in a spot, and obviously was hurting her - it was bleeding a little, so I washed it with hydrogen peroxide, soaked it in iodine for 20 min, used bacitracin on it and wrapped gauze around it, and topped it off with a sock. She seemed to even LIKE having the sock on it, too! Plus, I've given her some low-dose Bayer (I saw some doggie asprin on the pet shelf, same dosage). Now her other paws are starting to tear up, too. The worst one is healing well, I think, but is there anything more I can do for her? She's a large dog - German Shephard/Boxer, they think, and about 1-2 years old - has been at the shelter, in a cage, for almost a year. It's been over 5 years since I've had a dog, though, and I don't ever recall having any issues with paw pads.

  • I had my tonsils out yesterday. I'm allergic to Citric Acid, I discussed this with the nurse.?

She asked me what kinds of things citric acid was in, I told her grapefruit, oranges, lemons, some soaps, lotions, etc. After this discussion, she gave me a cup that she'd opened up for me, said it was for heartburn and nausea, and to drink it fast. I sure DID drink it fast - the main ingredient in it was Citric Acid, and it burned so badly! Now my recovery is so much worse than it should be, because I'm having to cope with the allergic reaction in addition to having my tonsils ripped out. Is there anything I can do about this? Can I sue them, get a settlement or something? I can't even talk yet, and it's been a whole day - and even the Hydrocodone they gave me isn't helping much, and I'm taking the maximum dose - it knocks me out, but that's about it.

  • I have an older treadmill that skips a lot. It hasn't been used in quite a while.?

Is it possible it just needs to be oiled or something? The belt doesn't seem to be hitting the side, and looks like it's pretty tight on there, but... I don't know what I'm looking for. I've seen other comments where people suggest to use an allen wrench to tighten either side of the thing to get the belt adjusted just right, but... I am not sure that this is one of those cases. It seems to be skipping if you put your foot down too heavily.

  • What are some great wedding songs?

I need songs for the ceremony (have a female singer), as well as songs for the reception to party to. I don't listen to R&B or Rap, but Country, Pop, Rock n Roll, 80's, etc would be great. I just want to have a good mix of slow dance songs and pumped-up, get crazy on the floor songs!

  • A friend of mine recently paid $165 to seal his driveway. I would say it's the size of 4 cars.?

Is this a decent price? Also, they had said they were "In the neighborhood," which made me suspicious... and it rained later that night. Anyhow, I have seen that you shouldn't seal your driveway within 24-48 hrs of rain... what should he expect? Will he need it done again next week? Next year?

  • My sister and I signed a lease last month. Now the apt complex says we signed the wrong one.?

The one we signed increased our rent by $150/mo.... and the one they want us to sign now would increase our rent by $275/mo!!! Can they do that? How do we fight it? We couldn't afford the first increase, there's no way we can afford yet another. I'm getting married in 4 months, so it's just a 4 mo lease - my sister is getting a smaller apt then. Is it worth it to fight it for just 4 months of rent?

  • My Grand Prix has problems with the blower and climate control knob?

When I bought it a few years ago, settings 1 and 2 didn't do a thing - if I wanted the a/c/heater on, it had to be set to 3, 4, or 5. Just the other day, it's graduated straight to only running on 5... settings 1-4 won't blow at all. Could this be as simple as a blown fuse? If so, is there a quick way to tell? It's freezing outside - literally - and I can't stand to be out there for long! LOL! If I can't find a solution quick, I'm going to have to take it to a shop. High is great while it's freezing, but sooner or later, I'm going to want a lower setting... I can always lower the teperature, but... what if the problem progresses, and even setting 5 refuses to work?

  • A good flower to use for an early Autumn wedding?

I've fallen in love with the Orange Flame Calla Lily, but I'm not sure if I can get them locally, or inexpensively. I also expect around 100 guests - how many flowers should I order, and how much should I budget for them? I have heard that flowers could be your most costly expense.

  • I have a 2002 Grand Prix. It was driving just fine until I parked it, now it seems I have no electricity.?

There are no inside lights, turn signals, radio, etc. Occationally, when I turn the ignition on, the "open door" beeping will start up, but is faint. The gas gauge also just waves at me, goes from E to F, and back and forth, like it gets some power, then less, then more, etc. Won't even click when I try to turn the engine over. Power windows/doors and my remote locks won't work. Could it be my battery? Alternator? Help - it's Sunday, and no shops are open! Thanks!

  • I have a 2002 Grand Prix with front end noise - can anyone help?

Just got new brake pads, new rotors, new wheel bearings/assemblings - what else could it be? It's definitely coming from the tires, not the engine - revving engine doesn't make the growling noise, turning the car doesn't change the noise - only the speed of the car. It started when I got the tires rotated/balanced at Meineke, but they won't help, just said it was the wheel bearings. Now those are brand new, and there's no difference in the noise.
