I have a 2002 Grand Prix. It was driving just fine until I parked it, now it seems I have no electricity.?
There are no inside lights, turn signals, radio, etc. Occationally, when I turn the ignition on, the "open door" beeping will start up, but is faint. The gas gauge also just waves at me, goes from E to F, and back and forth, like it gets some power, then less, then more, etc. Won't even click when I try to turn the engine over. Power windows/doors and my remote locks won't work. Could it be my battery? Alternator? Help - it's Sunday, and no shops are open! Thanks!
Sorry, it was only sitting for about 20 minutes, plus it's got the auto shutoff for any lights or other systems that might have been left on. Any other suggestions? I'm going to try jumping it now, though!

Your battery is dead. Have the car jump started, or charge the battery with a battery charger. You don't say how long it was parked, or if a light was left on. If it was parked for a long (months) time, the radio memory and vehicle computer could have drained the battery. If it was only parked for a few days (or less) either something was left on or the battery is bad!
Have the battery load tested (many parts stores will do this for free) and if it is bad have it replaced! If the battery checks out OK, have the alternator output checked to be sure that it is putting out power to recharge the battery!

You probably left the lights on, or the interior lights (door left ajar), or left something plugged into the cigarette lighter that drained the battery. Jump start it and let it run until the battery is charged back up. If it doesn't charge, you need a new battery.

I have seen this many times on GM's. One of the battery posts separates from the cells inside the battery. You need a new battery and possibly new cables.

Dead battery. Get a jump start from a friend or tow truck.
If that doesn't do it, then buy a new battery.

well that happens to my parent's car when they use jumper cables to help another person start-up their car.
