What milestones has your baby recently achieved?

I know we all love to brag so I thought I would ask, what has your baby achieved in the last week or so?

My guy will be 8 months old on Wednesday and in the last week or so he has

learned how to wave hi and bye

has begun the dabodobee consonant sounds instead of the multi pitched ahs

restarted with the happy screeches after spending the day with his 1yr old cousin who does them constantly

has learned to land butt first instead of head first when he topples over while standing.

learned how to turn the musical turtle toy on

plays peek a boo by ducking behind the top edge of his playard and then popping his head back up.

has fallen in love with the remote control

now for everyone in the Eastern time zone - GO TO BED it's 11pm, your baby will be awake in a few short hours - sleep. YA will be here tomorrow!! LOL

My son will be 7 weeks old this week. He has recently started to smile a lot, making "cooing" noises, and sleeping about 6 hours a night. I'm so proud of him. I know he's still really little, and his "milestones" are really little also, but I'm a proud mommy and I love to brag.

Hee Hee. I'm in the eastern Time Zone, but we have a newborn and I would like to feed her at midnight so that maybe, just maybe, she'll sleep through at least until the sun rises. It's so much easier to wake up and feed her if there's at least a little sunlight coming in.

This is my fourth child and she's 6 weeks old, and I was just musing to myself that the very first thing a baby actually learns. I mean "learns" because it isn't instinctual like suckling, is to SMILE!

That's really her first milestone. It's no longer gas. I can tickle her face and make silly noises and "prompt" her to smile.

If that isn't a sign that there is a God and He's good, I don't know what is :) I wonder if that was the first thing that I did as a baby. If it was, I hope someday I will die smiling too.

There. I just learned a valuable lesson from a newborn baby LOL. Smile, you're alive! It could be that I'm just google eyed from all that lack of sleep too hee hee hee!

My first child which is three is learning how to write and read. I am so excited for her. She is doing very well for her age. She is also getting more coordinated with her dance lessons which is awesome since in the beginning I would have to say she had no coordination at all.

My son who just turned one on march 18th is walking pretty good so now he is trying to run. It is so cute seeing his short legs move so fast. He is also trying to learn how to squeeze himself into the smallest areas to get into trouble. His biggest things as well is he is learning how to eat other foods other then baby foods with only 4 teeth. Every time I turn around he is getting into my daughters food. As long as I know it will not cause any choking factor I let him do it.

    Thanks for letting me brag.

My "baby's" reading (really reading and not just memorizing) is coming along better and better. He read most of a new book to me tonight. His penmanship is also coming along beautifully, considering he's very young, he's a boy (many boys take longer with fine motor skills), and his dad/my husband has the most atrocious handwriting you will ever see. It's scribbly, but I can understand what he writes. By the way, he's not some sort of super genius infant; he's three years old.

OooooKayyyyy Mom, I'm going to bed! =)~ I really should head off, as my son has preschool bright and early tomorrow morning. Goodnight, all!

Source(s): OK, can I sneak in a few more brags? First, my son has developed an interesting fascination with a book on the history of the U.S. presidents. After reading the first few pages, he could name the first ten presidents in order. While watching a certain politician *cough* on TV, he rolled his eyes and said, "WHAT IS HE TALKING ABOUT?!" I had to be proud of that. He knows all of the continents, and now knows most of the states. He started learning them in school, and we built on it at home. I think he's going to be a geography geek. And now, it's off to dreamland - and I don't mean the BBQ restaurant. =)

walking! He took 21 steps on Saturday night only till now mattress. i does no longer say they have been his first steps... he's been taking 2-3 steps in between his Dad and that i on account that 8 months... yet i did no longer count extensive form it as walking. Now he walks around the room - looks so humorous, yet very lovable! that is walking in my e book! Lukas has a push walker too... he likes marching up the room with it and ramming it persistently into the wall because of the fact that is in his way. I spend lots of the day turning him around while he hits the top. I remember the 1st time he controlled to apply his walker nevertheless... think of he became approximately 8 months too. by applying 9 months he became walking up and down the path on the park with it! Very very lovable! it is so exciting to be certain your LO upright and taking steps for the 1st time... gotta love walkers!

My little girl will be 7 weeks old on Thursday and she has already learned to roll over. Plus, she can scoot from one side of her tummy time mat to the other. She can't crawl yet... Just scoot. And, the best part by far, she's sleeping for about 5 hours during the night.

My baby learned how to change his own pamper..I'm kidding although I wish it were true.

However my son has been sitting up a lot lately, rollin over, holding his bottle and laughing out loud making noises and last night he started "scooching" his way across the floor. He's 5 months btw.

My son just turned 6 months old on Friday and in a matter of two days has learned to sit up on his own, he makes the dada sound repeatedly, he's cutting his first tooth, and he makes himself laugh!

my baby is 18m and just within the last week or so he's found our facial body parts and is trying to name them (eyes, nose, mouth, ears). he's not getting them right yet. he keeps pointing to my nose & saying eyes. oh well, at least he is finally trying!

not much changes week by week anymore. but in the last month he's started babbling while playing and singing. for the first time tonight he saw a cow on Jon & Kate plus 8 and said "moo"! it wasn't like I told him there's a cow. cow's say moo. he just saw it & said moo. my little man is finally going to talk after all. I'm a proud mommy tonight!
