Missing my fuse for central locking system & interior lights??

I have a 2002 VW Golf which I've had for 2 years now... I was checking out my fuse box in ref to my turn signals and realized I am missing fuse #14 (interior lights/central locking systom) - my lights work and so does my keyless entry (but this HAS been really off & on)... if I've always been missing it then should I replace it? Can anything BAD happen if I replace it?

nope...you are good. double check the map with your owners manual again or from the lid of your fuse box...with out the fuse it shouldnt work at all...my bet that it is only to house a spare...and its the remote battery not your fuse.

I have a 2000 Xsara Forte and the same thing has just started happening. I took out the fuse for the central locking but had to replace it as i controlled all the dashboard dials, ie speedo fuel gauge and heating. I have only had the car 4 weeks and i washed it at a jet wash then the following day this happened, i wonder if something got wet ???? Apart from that would welcome some ideas :-( Ok, I found i have 2 split wires in the drivers door and 1 that is showing signs of splitting. My question is how do i re connect the wires to the connectors??? or how do i take out the connectors so that i can rethread the wire back into the connector?
