11 month old and a hair cut?

Really you can get it done at any age. However, you need to understand a few things...

*Alot of stylists won't cut a child's hair unless they are a certain age.

*The haircut will NOT be perfect. Having clippers or scissors near a baby's head is a scary thing and the stylists will take the most caution possible - even if it means a crooked haircut.

*Your son might not even allow this to happen.

ETA - Erin, the plastic rollers are not a good idea because there is all sorts or product and hair on them. As bad as it sounds, many salons do not sanitize them.

There is no age requirement on a hair cut. At 11 months my son got his first haircut. It was a must, his hair was long, wild, and in his eyes.

We just went to a salon that accepted children. Try to see if there is a salon in your area that specializes in childs cuts. If not, thats okay, just call around and find someone with a little experience in cutting young childs hair.

My son did great with his hair cut. He sat in my lap while he got his hair cut. We brought along a few favorite distraction toys that he could hold in his hand, and it was a piece of cake.

You can have it done now. Just find a salon or barber shop with someone experienced in cutting babies hair.

You might want to bring a distraction. My son cried the first time and that was it. But the 2nd and 3rd time he kicked and screamed!

We started bringing the portable dvd player and he was very good throughout the whole hair cut!

You can do it now. John is 11 months old and I just took him last weekend to get his hair trimmed for his baby pictures. I was suprised at how good he was....he didn't make a peep!!! He just sat on my lap and watched the ladies behind us get their hair done. Make sure you save a nice long lock for the baby book though!

There is no minimum age, your biggest challenge will be getting him to hold still. My son has a ton of hair, so he has had 3 haircuts since he turned one, give him something to play with like some plastic roller si f your hairdresser has them and ask them to trim it quickly.

You give them a haircut when you think they need it regardless of age.
