Blackjack - getting dealt a 15?

I always ALWAYS get dealt a 15... What is the rule for that? usually I just hold because I know that there is an 80% chance I'm going to bust...

is there a rule for 15's?

Actually your math is SEVERELY FLAWED - if your NOT counting cards and are assuming the deck has a count of 0 you have a 46% chance of NOT busting drawing one card and a 54% chance to bust

it sounds like a good strategy to hold on 15 or 16 since you do NOT know the dealers hole card and assuming its a 10 is only correct about 30% of the time - but holding you are dependent upon the dealer busting - if the dealer has 2 through 6 as an up card - you are correct at standing - if the dealer has 7 through A up - the odds are GREAT the dealer is not going to bust and is going to make a hand of 17 or higher

either way hands of 15 or 16 you are not favored to win but you will improve your hand taking a card more often than you might think - the problem is you can still improve your hand drawing a card and yet STILL lose the hand to a higher total closer to 21

    Good Luck:)

Nascar's analysis (and the others who hit it at 7 or higher dealer card showing) is correct on when to hit a 15. This is the rest of the story.

Realize the average pip value of any 2 cards A-K (any 1, 11, or averaged score method used for the Ace) is about 7, so the average two cards score total dealt is above 14 and below 15.

15 is one of the most common hands! Be thankful you're getting more of these than 16s, which is worse!

Know your tables, then hit the tables.

That is probably the best move but its the dealer has a high card showing you have 24 cards out of 52 that will not get you busted in a single deck game so a little under 50%. So really just depends on if your feeling lucky.

The basic rule is hit if less than 16 when the house have 7 and above and stand when the house have 6 or less. Actually It depends on the card lying on the table. First check the cards of other players. If mostly of the players have lower cards and the house have low card its provable that the next card might big ones that can bust dealer.or vise versa. so better to stand. right! I do agree make your hands survive first, so can still compare with the dealers hand than becoming bust which makes the house sure win.

There is no rule per se, it depends on how many people are playing, what cards they're showing, what the dealer is showing and how the cards are going.

Generally if the dealer has a 7 or higher you want to hit.

LOL.. Like that other guy said.. If I always got a 15 I would just quit. At least move to another table.

There are 13 rank cards in each suit.. You can take 6... A,2,3,4,5,6.. 7 cards will bust you.

stand if the dealer has 6 up or less

hit if the dealer has 8 or above

as for a 7 it could be soft(with an A) or it could be a hard 17

that would be a toughy but i would take a hit

If you ALWAYS get a 15, I suggest you never play again! lol If the dealer is showing a 7,8,9,10, or A, then you hit until you get at least 17. If the dealer is showing 2-6, then you stay.
