Is anyone going to YAGP 2012?

Hi, I am planning to do YAGP next year. I'm 15 and it's my first time so I'm a bit nervous. Also, I have not much of a clue of how it works scoring wise. Can anyone explain the general rules for YAGP?

And, is anyone planning to attend next year? If so, I hope you see you guys!

    Hello!

I did YAGP this past year and I will also be doing it next year. It is such a great experience.

As you probably already know, before you can make it to the finals in NYC, you must make it past the semi- finals. To do this you must achieve a score of over 95 at the semi- finals. While you are on stage doing your variation, the judges are watching and critiquing you. They have a score sheet to help grade you and on the score sheet there are boxes that may say footwork, stage presence, turns, strength, etc. they will put a check next to the box if it was good and an "x" next to the box if that area needs work. They announce the top twelve highest scores in each division at the awards ceremony and they also announce top three in each division and the winner of each division.

My favorite part of the whole weekend were the classes at the end of it all. They were amazing and I learned so much!

    Good luck!
