Did this method of torture actually exist?

I read about it before, but I'm not sure if it actually exists.

You dangle a prisoner at a height where his or her feet can almost touch the ground. In this way the prisoner will be driven crazy from endlessly trying escape.

Weird question, sorry, but I though it was really absurd and I was wondering if it really exists.

Thanks!

I think it does exist...i've seen it in a lot of movies, they hang them from their wrists and ankles...kinda sad but yea =/

I think it does. It sounds like the method used by Bush to interrogate people, something akin to waterboarding

    Hope this helps
