Japanese. What is the difference between 産む and 生む?
Both means give birth or produce right? When do you use which?

Generally, 産む is used for the expression directly related to the birth and 生む is used for the rest.
彼が産まれた瞬間(umareta shunkan) > the moment he was born
卵を産む(tamago wo umu) > lay eggs
利益を生む(rieki wo umu) > make a profit
平成生まれ(Heisei umare) > born in Heisei period
子供を産む(kodomo wo umu) > bear a child
子供を生む(kodomo wo umu) > bear a child, have a child
But this difference is not absolute. There are many cases you won't be sure which case you should use. In those cases you can always write it in Hiragana.
