    You would be amazed at what you get on YA!

    You could start off with the link below, where jobs with SLC are currently advertised. Keep checking the site from time to time to see new stuff as it appears.

    Many councils within the UK do still offer some apprenticeships, mainly (but not exclusively) in the craft/manual areas. Policies do seem to change regularly, though, so it's difficult to be specific. I suggest that if there is an area that you would like to work in, write to the Council department concerned and ask them if any posts like this are coming up. If they are, ask them to let you know, so that you can apply.

    Apprenticeships with the Council have to cover the same areas as anyone else in relation to the qualification. They do, however, have a very structured system, have recognised unions and have to be "reasonable" employers.
