Dog with parvo. Help?

My puppy recently got parvo so I took her took her to the vet to get treated and was there for over a day. My family brought her back home and we're giving her alot of fluids like pedialyte and water. Is there anything else I can do to get her thru this? She still seems a little tired and won't eat. My vet said this was normal but I want to make sure she's not in danger anymore. Also I'm afraid my other puppy might have gotten it too, She started vomiting a little bit. My dad will not pay for the treatment for her assuming she did get it. Is there any way we can treat her at home? Thanks in advance.

    Ok keep up the fluids

    with ur other puppy! It

    should be fine!

BUT ur other one totally has parvo!

You HAVE to get her treatment!

Shes gonna die. I know. Happened twice

    with my cousins puppies.

One had it, died. Before they knew it,

the others started puking and what happened, DEAD.

Theres no treatment at home. TAKE HER TO THE VET.

    Next time, get parvo SHOTS!

    (P.S

Parvo shots are needed each year!)

If your family is unable to care for the puppies then you should have them surrendered to a facility that can. Its not fare to the puppies to die because your father refuses to pay for whatever reason. I know things happen and families take on more than they can handle some times. In these cases that is what the SPCA and Humaine Society are for. You may have a different name for the place where you can surrender animals too. I would stay away from the SPCA if it is a 30 day uthenization facility. Which means they keep the animals for 30 days then if they don't get adopted they put them to sleep. If the dog is ill they may just uthenize it and not bother getting it treatment. I know its a hard situation for you being the child to give this idea to your father but it might be the best under the circumstances.

Below is a link you and your dad might want to check out. It has a home remedy for Parvo and other pertinent info about Parvo. There is a nondisclaimer on the site just so you know.

Colloidal silver it works I have used it myself on dogs that have had parvo and it killed the virus in all of them. I had one that was my own and 4 that were brought to me over a period of 5 years they all lived. I'm not promising anything but it worked for me and many others I have read about but I'm going off experience myself here wont hurt to try. you can get it at a health food store. give it about a 1/4 of a cup at first then a couple droppers full a few times a day.

let me also say I did a test with this I had a litter of pups about 8 years ago that got it there was three of them I sent one to the vet $650.00 and two weeks in the hospital. the second I gave the silver as I was still a skeptic over this particular thing I had used it on my self and family but not on animals. any how I gave her silver $30.00 and 2 days later dog was just fine. third I did nothing he died with a day and a half. after this I thought maybe a flook so I had a friend a few months later her puppy got it the vet was going to put him down but she asked me to try silver we did and the dog is still doing fine to day since then I have done 5 other dogs with parvo in the last 5 years all 7 total have lived.

right now I'm treating a puppy that is 5 weeks old he started having seizures Wednesday I have had him on the silver since he was brought to me he is laying in my living room right now and has been up and running around for two days and has not had one seizure since Friday night he will be going home in two day's if he does not have any more. also you can google parvo and colloidal silver and find a lot on it there.

You should call your vet and ask these questions. That's part of what you're paying the vet for.

If your dad won't pay for treatment of the dog, turn the dog over to rescue or SPCA so THEY can treat the dog. I'm not sure if you mean your dad refuses to pay the vet for services already rendered or if he doesn't want to pay a vet to do the rest of the treatment.

The risk of the dog dying is very high. She's extremely sick. The other puppy has been exposed and you should have discussed with the vet what to do with the other puppy at home who was exposed. You can try to treat her at home, but you need to get directions from your vet on what to do, and you'd better talk to your vet soon, before it's too late -!-

We just lost our puppy to parvo. I am so sorry you are going through this right now. Unfortunetly things may get worse before they get any better. Our vets office didn't offer overnight services and I believe she died because of it. Call some local animal hospitals and tell them your situation and see if you can get treatment for her at a reasonable rate. I don't think they can survive without IV fluids, if this doesn't work keep her hydrated & pray.

Source(s): Just went through a horrible experience myself.

you can use pedia sure the drink for lil kids but only the vanilla, parvo attacks the heart muscle and vit e once a day will help, childs dosage of pepto will help with the vomiting, and give the pedialytes instead of water, when she is better dont start her back on dog food right away give a bland diet and boil rice and chicken and feed her that for a few days, use the pedialytes and the pedia sure if she can hold it down,

Your other puppy definitely has parvo. You need to treat her immediatley. Waiting to treat her will just make it worse and harder to treat. I went through it will my puppy and the vet said we caught in just in time because if we waited, his condition could of been much, much worse. If your dad won't pay for it, you should give the puppy to a shelter who will pay for it. This is a terrible thing for dogs to go through and you should treat them both right away.

Try to give your puppy as much fluid as possible. i saved two of my puppies by constantly giving them fluids. Gatorade works well because it keeps them hydrated longer. Give them a fluid at least every 15 minutes. Try not to make them work too much because the body will take the fluid for energy. you need the fluid for the puppy to live not for energy. Replace all the fluid in the diarera and vomit with more fluids.
