  • Please help me??

Hello everyone, I m a 20 yr old college junior. I am currently attending FSU on an academic scholarship, but my dream has always been to go to UNCG. I am applying for as many scholarships as I can , but I m still coming up short financially. I know you don t know me, but I ve worked so hard, and continue to work so hard for this. If any of you value education and have some spare change, it would mean the world to me.

  • Somebody...Anybody?

Does anyone know what the Critical Strategies (pp. 1393-1406) are in the textbook Literature for Composition? I am supposed to write my final essay for my English 113 class on these strategies, and I don't have access to a textbook at the moment. I would appreciate it so much if someone could tell me.

  • pre-employment drug testing?

So, I just did the interview for a job, and the supervisor told me that they would order a drug test and he told me where the test would be given. But, I was so nervous and ready to be done with the interview, that I didn't think to ask more questions about it. Do they usually call and tell you when to go to the drug test, or am I just supposed to head up there whenever I can? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I just really don't want to call to just ask that.

  • Why are these people following me on tumblr?

Ok, this is a stupid, and fairly irrelevant question, but I am just curious. I'm new to tumblr, and I really only joined to see some of the gifs (they are hilarious to me) so I don't have a picture or background on there, and I don't even post anything. So, why are all these random people following me? As of now I have around 50 followers (only 5 of whom I follow) and it has me confused. Can other people see the things that I "heart" and follow me on that basis, or are these people just following me for the hell of it? Sorry if this is literally the dumbest question you've heard in a while, but this is just one of those things lol

  • How to start a band, from nothing?

Okay, so I have been singing my entire life, but I don't have much experience past open mic nights and church. I've decided to really commit to making music a bigger part of my life, and I can't do that without the help of people who can actually play instruments (just sitting on stage with a sound system seems pretty lame to me lol) so, what are some ideas as to how to find the best people to be in this hypothetical band. I'm into heavier stuff: slipknot, miw, bmth, etc. But I think my voice is more suited to rock, pop/punk, indie, etc. So basically, I am open to any and as many suggestions as I can get. Any helpful tips of experience would be much appreciated. Thx in advance

  • How to get in shape without becoming bulky?

Okay, I'm really not looking to lose weight, just tone up and get into better shape. But, I really don't want to look bulky, and I'm struggling with finding a balance. So, what are the best exercises/types of exercises to do for this. Also, how much cardio should I pair with yoga to make the workout complete? Thx in advance

  • Critique this poem for me?

“People change”, he says. “People grow.”

I've seen it happen. I should know.

There's no real evidence that he can show

Yet he still preaches: The highest of the high can come from the lowest of the low.

I dupe my heart into believing what I can't convince my mind.

Walk around as if I were mute, deaf, and blind.

We all pretend there's no untruth to find.

I wish so badly his intentions were truly kind.

It's all so familiar, this game that we play.

I can almost predict the exact lies that he'll say.

It'd be too much to ask for the happiness to stay

Yet I fall deeper, knowing all the while that in the end I'll be the one to pay.

    Serenity crumbles, and promises break.

We make excuses that we know are fake.

Through the cracks in his well-crafted facade we catch a glimpse of the cold-hearted snake.

Yet we dumbly let him ruin what isn't his to take.

“Old habits die hard,” now that one I believe.

I'm not sorry as I watch him leave; too tired from it all to even grieve.

I finally realize there's nothing left of his soul to retrieve.

I know it won't be easy, and the battle has just begun.

But I've made the first step by stepping out of the darkness, and into the sun.

I have no reasons left to run. I'll seek no revenge, even though it could be fun.

“People change,” he said. “People grow.”

I've seen it happen, and now I know.

I am the evidence there is to show.

The highest of the high has come from the lowest of the low.

  • Poll: tattoo artists with no visible tattoos...?

I have two tattoos, and admittedly the first shop I went to was quite sketchy. I was underage and they didn't ask for ID...you get the picture. But, one random thing that bugged me about the artists who worked there was the fact that neither of them had any tattoos (at least none I could see). I've since gotten both tats "fixed" at a retuable shop that was recommended by friends, and all the artists were pretty much covered in ink, which instantly made me feel more comfortable. My question is, am I alone in this, or is it kind of a taboo/unnerving thing to be tattooed by an artist who appears to have none himself?

  • Is 5/16 captive bead ring a good size for a helix piercing?

I know that I need an 18g, but I'm not sure about the depth (I'm ordering online).

  • Is this a a good idea for a tattoo?

Okay, so for my 18th birthday (in about 3 mths) I will be getting my 3rd tattoo. The 2 I currently have are both black ink, and small and I plan on sticking with that theme for my for the next one. I want it to mean "What goes around comes around," but I don't want to write out the words. So, I was thinking about getting 2 arrows that almost connect to form a circle. (one would be facing up, and one down, if you get what I mean). This representation makes perfect sense to me, but my mind works in a very unique way lol. Basically, what I am asking, is does this sound like a good image, and if not, what would be a good idea for a tattoo that conveys the message of karma? Thanks.

  • Two wrist tattoos = too much?

okay, so I have a small symbol tattooed on my right wrist, and I was thinking about getting three words tattooed on my other wrist. Is it a bit overkill to have a tat on both wrists? Will they clash, or take away from oneanother? (they would both be in black ink jtlyk)I know that getting a tattoo is a personal decision, should be about what I like, and all that jazz...but I was just looking for some opinions. thanks
